Your Visit to Birkenhead Park
As one of the Wirral’s most visited places, we’d like to make sure you have an enjoyable time at Birkenhead Park. There’s so much to see and do and nearly 140 acres of historic landscape to lose yourself in. The park has something to offer everybody.
It’s worth planning your visit to the People’s Garden in advance. Here’s some information and tips to make the most of your time here.
Opening Times
Birkenhead Park is open to the public all the year round, 24 hours a day. If you need advice, information, or assistance, you can find it at our Visitor Centre on the park Road North side of the park.
The centre is open 7 days a week (apart from a few days during Christmas period), from 9am to 4:30pm. It is here that you can find the park’s café and toilet facilities.

Birkenhead Park is at the heart of the town and easy to get to on foot, by public transport, bicycle, or car. It’s served by several local bus routes and sits a 5-minute walk away from nearby Birkenhead Park train station.
