Open 9.30am-4.30pm, 7 days a week. It has a Café and a gallery space, as well as public toilets.

The bowling greens are publicly available during summer from around 12pm, with access to the area via the entrance on Park Road North. We currently have 3 active bowling greens to play on, which are looked after by our on-site maintenance team. The Kendal Bowling Club building is a Grade II listed structure.

With its sinuous and almost river-like construction, the Lower Lake is one of our most popular features, with our fantastic bridges and Boathouse overlooking the waters. Drop into our Visitor Centre and pick up some food to feed our ducks; and keep an eye out for the Swans!

A much more modern feature in Birkenhead Park, and an opportunity to let the little ones run wild! Maybe even pick up an Ice Cream from the van nearby.

Birkenhead Park Cricket Club dominates the open sections of the Lower Park with its imposing tented structure, surrounding the original clubhouse. They are currently members of the Liverpool and District Cricket Competition.

Created in 2009, this little plot of land on the edge of Birkenhead Park is run by the Friends of Birkenhead Park as a community allotment and growing area.

The Birkenhead St. Mary’s Cricket Club is the younger of our two clubs, established in 1878. Their Clubhouse is close to Ashville Road.

Situated in the Boothby Ground, our tennis courts were renovated in 2014 and provide 6 full size courts and 4 junior courts to help you get ready for Wimbledon!

A much quieter, and more serene lake than the Lower, but still displays the same river-like features. The island at the centre of the lake is not accessible to public, but is still maintained by our on-site maintenance teams. Drop into our Visitor Centre and pick up some food to feed our ducks; and keep an eye out for the Swans!

This once housed the Palm House in Birkenhead Park before its removal following damage during World War II. The site can be use for outdoor performances such as Shakespeare in the Park.

Birkenhead Park RUFC was established in 1871, and has a wealth of history in showcasing exhibition matches at the club on Park Road North.
