In commemoration of the centenary of the 1924 British Everest expedition, Birkenhead Park is proud to host “Sandy Irvine, from Birkenhead to Everest” at the visitor centre from Saturday 1st June till Sunday 18th August. The photography exhibition will display in in-depth account of Birkenhead-born mountaineer Andrew ‘Sandy’ Irvine’s unique role in the 1924 British Everest expedition.

This fascinating exhibition, guest curated by Julie Summers, Andrew Irvine’s great niece and historian, will showcase some exclusive documents and photographs reproduced with kind permission of Merton College Oxford, the Royal Geographical Society, and the Alpine Club.

This exhibition is free to enter.
